FABI Award-winning Odwalla Craft Ades are a line of premium lemonades and limeades infused with herbs, spices and botanicals to deliver a delicious, artisan-inspired beverage experience. These specialty ades are sweetened with cane sugar and natural flavors. They are available to foodservice operators in a frozen concentrate format. Once thawed, the product is mixed with water and dispensed through bubblers or handcrafted in small batches/pitchers. The new lineup is available in Blackberry Basil Lemonade, Lavender Mint Lemonade, Spicy Watermelon Lemonade, Tangerine Passionfruit Lemonade, Strawberry Guava Lemonade and Pomegranate Limeade.
The unique, natural colors and flavor combinations of Odwalla Craft Ades set the line apart from competitors. All six variations are paired with flavors that are emerging or on the fringe of the flavor curve. Each variation also has elements that consumers find appealing – from unique fruit flavor combinations to aroma therapy properties (like lavender for relaxation or basil for reducing stress).
The sales potential for these beverages is significant, with lemonade growing across all foodservice channels, including QSR, casual dining and on-premise. Flavored lemonades in particular are growing rapidly, and flavors including lime, mint, strawberry, watermelon, blackberry and pomegranate are expected to grow up 153 percent between now and 2021. Purchase intent of these beverages is also high. 87 percent of respondents in a survey we conducted in 2018 said they were “very likely” or “pretty likely” to purchase these kinds of specialty ades if available in restaurants.
Odwalla Craft Ades launched in December 2018 and have several foodservice customers launching in 2019.
